Terrapin Treasures

Hand Blown in Humboldt since 1995. Collectible Art made from Borosilicate Glass -by BJ & Lisa.

Working side by side for almost 30 years creating a whimsical blend of hand blown glass and hand dyed accessories.

We met as college students in the Sacramento area and started the business Imagine Jewelry. We moved to Arcata to attend Humboldt State University in 1993.  I graduated with an art major, business minor, focusing on jewelry, lithography and sculpture.  We sort of fell into glassblowing toward the end of college. Eventually changing our name to Terrapin Treasures in 1995.  Creating glass into functional and fun art, as well as mixing glass with other mediums and continuing to grow the business to what it is today.

We are always exploring new mediums and new art processes to remain creative and inspired while continuing to stick to our glass roots.  Having to reinvent ourselves and how we did business, in 2020 we started a social media glass page on Instagram and Facebook as Terrapin Glass Gardens. We also renovated a space in our house to create a gallery for people to come for a private or virtual shopping experience. We still have the gallery space and do appointments, but, we are excited to be out in the public at festivals and events and traveling in the Pacific Northwest selling to galleries.

We are always raising money for nonprofits.  Our ongoing campaign raising money for shelters “Bear Dawg Bandannas”. Bear is our rescue dog. He sells his tie dye bandannas at events and all proceeds go to the shelters.
